Why we Love Hyderabad

  • Affordable cost of living in comparison to other metro cities.
  • A comparatively safer city where women can commute at night.
  • Communication is easy for non locals as the locals understand/speak both Hindi and English.
  • A thriving cosmopolitan culture.
  • New eateries which offer different cuisines mushrooming across the city.
  • Fabulous resorts for weekend getaways.
  • The booming IT and pharma industry has ensured terrific job opportunities
  • Irani chai, Hyderabadi biryani and bangles from Lad bazaar.
  • Historical monuments of Qutb Shahi and Nizams.
  • Necklace Road, the city’s answer to Marine Drive, Mumbai
  • Fabulous collection of pearls that are a speciality here.
  • Outer ring road that will help ease traffic congestion.
  • Lavish real estate properties that make living a regal experience.
  • Pleasant weather all year through.
  • A thriving Tollywood industry.
  • A rocking nightlife

The history of this city is very interesting as many rulers from Qutb Shahi to Asaf Jahi (Nizam) dynasty ruled this city leaving a regal past, magnificent palaces and sweet memories.

This city was the largest princely state in India, with its own flag, currency and coins, postal system, railway, an airline and even its own radio. It was a state in which the ruler received the allegiance of families holding estates which in size, population and richness surpassed the territories of several other Indian states.

Today this modern city is famous worldwide for Information Technology. Many MNCs and Fortune 500 companies like Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Google and many others have setup their offices and R&D’s centres here in this beautiful city of India.

Hitec City
Hyderabad Information Technology Engineering Consultancy City
A major information technology township built in Madhapur

Last few years have been very important in the development of this city as various mega projects have been approved by the Government which includes Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad, Fab City, Hardware Park, Seven Star Hotel and the list goes on.

Some leading International Universities are ready to open their campuses here.

Recently the city got extended in-terms of area, as big as Singapore, and second biggest city in India, by merging 12 municipalities and eight villages and got a title of “Greater Hyderabad”.

With this expansion there is a huge demand of land properties, hence many national and international companies have targeted this city for mega real estate projects. Already a handful of International Real Estate companies completed many projects successfully and received a good response from local and NRI investors.

Every student and employee in India is willing to study and work here, because of top-class institutions, large organizations, better opportunities, pleasant weather, friendly people and tasty food.

Once you visit this amazing city, then you too will definitely want to stay for a lifetime.

GMR Aviation Academy appointed as Airport Council International’s Global Training Hub for the Asia Pacific Region

Hyderabad, 28th November, 2009 : GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) and Airports Council International, (ACI World) Geneva, have signed an agreement for the appointment of the GMR Aviation Academy as a Global Training Hub for the Asia Pacific region.

The agreement was signed in Hyderabad today, by Mr. Kiran Kumar Grandhi, Business Chairman, Airports, GMR Group and Ms. Angela Gittens, Director General, ACI World.

Through this agreement, the GMR Aviation Academy will facilitate ACI’s training opportunities that help develop managerial and operational standards, and spread knowledge of best practices throughout the world’s airports.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. P. Sripathy, CEO, GHIAL said, “Considering that the other such training hubs within Asia Pacific are located at Dubai in the UAE, Incheon in South Korea and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, the GMR Aviation Academy will provide an ideal training venue, not just for the professionals from within the airports in India, but also from those in the SAARC countries.

“And with twelve new greenfield airports that will be coming up, and a majority of the existing 126 airports that are operated by the Airports Authority of India which will be upgraded, there will be a substantial increase in the number of requirements of adequately trained staff that are employed by airports, their suppliers and the different service providers.

“The GMR Aviation Academy will be geared up to provide the best, professional training that the qualified instructors from ACI will impart here in Hyderabad”, Mr. Sripathy added.

Ms. Angela Gittens, Director General, ACI World, who made a presentation on “Forging a vision of sustainable aviation”, said that, “Simply put, airports are capital intensive businesses highly dependent on economies of scale. Even in a downturn airports have to invest to provide capacity for the future. And user charges may have to increase.

“I note that India has some of the lowest user charges in the world but India has also lagged behind in providing capacity. Now that India is indeed providing the capacity the airlines and the communities need, it is only natural that user charges will have to rise, at least in the short term”, she added.

Airports Council International (ACI), the voice of the world’s airports has 1700 member airports. ACI Global Training was established to make training opportunities more accessible, and help develop managerial and operational standards at its member airports worldwide.

Every tourist visiting India, must make a trip to Hyderabad city in India, where you can see an astonishing blend of ancestral heritage with the modern IT sector. Hyderabad, also known as City of Nizams, is a city that was named after a queen Hyder Mahal. Hyderabad literally means the 'city of Hyder'. The city of Hyderabad has its own individual character, which is evident in the beautiful, ancient palaces and the equally modern, and state-of-the-art offices and buildings. The IT sector has made such a deep impact on the ancestral Hyderabad city that the city is often called as 'Cyberabad'. The city of Hyderabad has a co-sister city, which is called as 'Secunderabad'. A man-made lake called the Hussain Sagar Lake divides both the cities.

The city of Hyderabad is the capital of Andhra Pradesh, which is spread over the Deccan Plateau and is the fifth largest metropolitan city in India. If shopping is your passion, you can pick up some distinctive items such as the famous Hyderabadi pearls and other handicrafts, which are unique to the city of Hyderabad and flaunt it with pride.

Hyderabad provides scrumptious delicacies to tease your taste buds. It is high on the spicy content so watch out! Keep some water ready on your side in case you accidentally chew on red hot chilies! The food is authentic and is a culmination of the Mughlai cuisine and the traditional Hyderabadi style. Though the cuisine is predominantly vegetarian, the people on the coast do eat fish and prawns cooked in sesame or coconut. Rice toddy is the locally brewed alcoholic drink.
